Insectenwerkgroep
De insectengroep van IVN-VEV bestaat uit een aantal enthousiaste mensen met interesse voor insecten. Doel van de groep is onze kennis over insecten te vergroten om te kunnen delen met derden. Dit doen we door organiseren van insecten–zoek–middagen in de periode van maart t/m oktober. Verder doen we ook mee aan de nationale bijenteldag samen met de jeugd IVN-VEV kinderen in april.
Info over insecten zoek middagen:
Elke drie weken gaan we op dinsdagmiddag van 13:30 uur t/m 16:00 uur insecten zoeken. Hier vindt u het rooster voor 2026. We komen bij elkaar op het startpunt en dan gaan we samen naar de locatie in de omgeving van Eindhoven. We vangen dan insecten, die we ter plekke op naam brengen en fotograferen. Elke waarnemingen met foto zetten we in waarneming.nl
Waarom zijn insecten niet eng!
Insecten, beestjes met 6 poten, zijn klein (1 mm t/m 9 cm) en zeker niet eng, maar eerder fascinerend als je ze goed bekijkt. Ze behoren tot de oudste diergroep op aarde. Elk insectensoort heeft een functie in de natuur en een eigen uniek verhaal om zich voort te planten, te groeien, te eten en te jagen. Daarnaast kun je op onze insecten foto’s zien, hoe ingenieus door moeder natuur, lichaam, ogen, vleugels, poten, monddelen, geur–smaak –tast sensoren zijn aangepast op hun specifieke manier van leven en overleven. Als je van details houdt en de innovatieve ontwerpen in de natuur, kijk eens naar insecten!

The IVN-VEV insect group consists of a number of enthusiastic people with an interest in insects. The goal of the group is to increase our knowledge about insects so that we can share it with others. We do this by organizing insect hunt afternoons during the period from March through October. Furthermore, we also participate in the national bee count day in April together with the IVN-VEV youth children.

Every three weeks, on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, we go looking for insects. Here you will find the schedule for 2026. We meet at the starting point and go together to the location in the Eindhoven area. We then catch insects, identify them on the spot, and photograph them. We post every observation with a photo on the site waarneming.nl
Why insects aren’t scary!
Insects, little creatures with 6 legs, are small (1 mm to 9 cm) and certainly not scary, but rather fascinating if you look at them closely. They belong to the oldest animal group on Earth. Every insect species has a function in nature and its own unique story for reproducing, growing, eating, and hunting. Additionally, you can see in our insect photos how ingeniously Mother Nature has adapted the body, eyes, wings, legs, mouthparts, and smell, taste, and touch sensors to their specific way of life and survival.
