Toterfout/Halfmijl - Moerkot Pond

The Moerkot pond (Dutch: Moerkotven) , is a remnant of a large fen or marsh, the Postelse Weijer, which was located next door in the current fields. Frogs and salamanders are threatened in this pond by a predatory fish, the sunfish.

A special plant in this pond is the bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata). The banks have been cleared of trees and shrubs to bring more light and warmth into the pool.
